Please, I need help with my funnel cake!!!?!
I've tried and tried and tried, but when I pour the funnel cake mix into the fryer, the mix always disperses!. Instead of being a cake, it ends up being funnel crispers; I just made that up!. The mix basically looks like non cheesy cheetos all dispersed and separated from each other!. What I would like to know is how do I make a funnel cake into, basically a cake!. FYI, I usually use the ketchup bottle method to put the mix into the fryer!. I try to put the mix into a circular motion then back and forth and up and down!. I'm using a deep fryer with the grease at 375 degrees!. I also must say that the grease is pretty old, so much so that it's a dark brown, if this makes a difference!. PLEASE HELP ME, IT'S SO MIND BOGGLING!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have this As Seen On TV Funnel Cake Kit and it came with a metal ring that gets put into an electric skillet and it contains the funnel cake so it's a cool shape and size!. But it DOES also have a small pitcher with a hole about the size of a dime to pour the batter!. So yes, use something with a larger hole, change the oil and make sure your batter is thick enough to hold it's shape when it hits the oil!. Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Its proble your grease and is your batter thick!? or runny!?
If your grease is brown that makes your grease heavy so you do need to change the grease also you can use the ketchup bottle i just got done watching a youtube video and semi home made was useing a ketchup bottle!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Did you cut a bigger hole in the ketchup bottle!? That hole is too small!. You need to have enough batter in the squigglies to allow them to cook but not brown before the center is done!.
I really do think this is your problem!. If you want to use the ketchup bottle hole then turn down the grease temp!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would diffidently first change the oil!. There might be funky stuff in that oil that keeps your funnel cake from deveolping correctly, also you might be getting a nasty taste using old oil!. Double check your oil temperature and make sure it's at 375 degrees!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
My guess is the ketchup bottle is making it too thin!. My recipe says to use a (get this) funnel, hence "funnel cake"!. If you don't have a funnel, maybe you could just pour it out of a liquid measuring cup!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
is ur grease hot enough if you can put ur hand over the pot for more that a couple of second than it not hot enough maybe u should change the oil
