Question: I have homegrown jalopeno peppers - does anyone know how to "pickle" them like the ones you buy in the store!?
Answers:
PICKLED JALOPENO PEPPERS

1 cup vinegar
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tablespoon pickling spice (tie in a bag) discard later
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon canning salt
Bay leaves

Wash peppers!. and slice 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick!.

Pack loosely in a jar with 1 bay leaf in each jar!.

Heat ingredients to a boil and pour over peppers in jar!.

Place jar lid after wiping jar rim clean; tighten band!.

Process 10 minutes in a boiling water bath!.

Do not forget the oil!. The oil is the secret!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i use the same recipe as i use for my dill pickles, leaving out the dill of course!.!.!. I usually just freeze my jalapenos whole, and use them like fresh ones for salad and chili, or where ever i need extra spice!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

My friend pickles them, and makes flavored hot pepper oil from hers!. She sells them on eBay (Red Hot Kitty Peppers)!. You could message her, from one of her listings, and ask her how!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
