What is the best way to cook rice?!

Question: What is the best way to cook rice!?
I have always used twice as much water as rice!. I bring to a boil and then simmer covered with the smallest flame possible for 18 minutes!.

I now have a range that does not allow me to use a very small flame!. This causes much of the rice to be wasted since it sticks to the bottom of the pot!.

What would be a better ratio of rice to water and recommended cooking time with a low but not tiny flame!? Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
E-Z; put it in the microwave for 2 minutes on high and 15-18 minutes on level 4!. Rice is one of the very few foods that doesn't care where it is cooked!. I've seen it done in the oven!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've got an electric rice maker which makes it very easy!. Hoever, you can also put the rice (2:1) in a covered casserole dish, and nuke it on high for 20 min!.

Try adding stuff to the water/rice mix like 1 teaspoon vegetable seasoning, or small chunks of fresh veggies!. Yum!
