Almost all of your other answerer's do not know what they are talking about and you should be arrested and shot for abusing good food!.

Bisto gravy is disgusting and completely ruins the taste of good food!. On top of that you have to pay for it!. Why pay out good money for a product that is going to ruin your dinner!?

Take 500 grams of lean minced beef, 1 onion, one carrot, one small or half a large swede, one or two parsnips!. also add a small amount of leek and celery if available!.

Prepare these vegetables and along with the mince cook with either no extra fat or a small knob of butter in a very hot wok until well browned!. Stir all the time to make it brown evenly!. You will not need the butter if enough fat comes out of the mince as you cook it!. Put in a saucepan with either one 400 gram tin of chopped tomatoes or the equivalent in tomato puree!. Add salt, pepper and a few mixed herbs and two beef stock cubes!. Add enough water to cover and simmer for 15 minutes!. Slightly thicken with a paste of flour and water!. Add some dumplings if you desire and simmer for another 15 minutes!.

If made correctly this will be unbelievably delicious and serve three or four people!.

Using the slow cooker after (not before) you have browned the meat and vegetables and thickened the mince is a very good idea!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

This is a very delicious chicken and creamy gravy, but you can only use the gravy recipe and make the gravy!.
It's REALLY delicious;

1/2 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons garlic salt
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1 (4 pound) whole chicken, cut into pieces
3 cups vegetable oil
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup milk

In a medium bowl, beat together 1/2 cup milk and egg!. In a resealable plastic bag, mix together the flour, garlic salt, paprika, pepper and poultry seasoning!. Place chicken in bag, seal, and shake to coat!. Dip chicken in milk and egg mixture, then once more in flour mixture!. Reserve any remaining flour mixture!.
In a large skillet, heat oil to 365 degrees F (185 degrees C)!. Place coated chicken in the hot oil, and brown on all sides!. Reduce heat to medium-low, and continue cooking chicken until tender, about 30 minutes!. Remove chicken from skillet, and drain on paper towels!.
Discard all but 2 tablespoons of the frying oil!. Over low heat, stir in 2 tablespoons of the reserved flour mixture!. Stirring constantly, cook about 2 minutes!. Whisk in chicken stock, scraping browned bits off bottom of skillet!. Stir in 1 cup milk, and bring all to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly!. Reduce heat to low, and simmer for about 5 minutes!. Serve immediately with the chicken!. serves 8!.

To give it a good taste add some vegetables in - fry up some onions, garlic and carrots or something, then add the mince and brown!. also add in an OXO cube (or half of, depending how much mince you have) and some water!.
