You can make better mashed potatoes than KFC, trust me!. You just need some Yukon Gold potatoes, water, salt, cream, butter and pepper!.

Peel the potatoes, cut them into quarters and put them in a pot!. Fill pot with water up to the point where it just covers the potatoes!. Add generous amount of salt and bring to boil!. Cook potatoes until fork tender, about 15-20 minutes!.

Drain!. Heat cream and butter in small pot until just warm!. Pour over potatoes and mash with potato masher until desired consistency is reached!. Add pepper to taste and salt, if needed!.

Boom!. Homemade mashed potatoes that taste way better than KFC!. For the gravy, you could buy some bottled gravy!. Some of those are pretty good!. Or you could buy a roast, season with vegetable oil, salt and pepper, place in roasting pan with some onions, carrots, celery and garlic cloves, roast at 400 until done, let roast cool, take the pan drippings and remove the oil!. Now you got your beef juices to make your gravy!.

Melt a little butter in saucepan!. Add equal amount of flour and stir to make roux!. Cook flour in butter until you have a peanut butter color!. Add beef juices and stir until flour is dissolved!. Bring to a boil!. Lower heat to simmer and reduce gravy until desired consistency is reached!. That's your basics on how to make gravy from scratch, which is a whole hell of a lot better than KFC, which probably uses gravy powder and boxed potatoes!. Hope this helps you out!.
