Answers:
Just make a rub without the sugar!. When you get ready to cook the ribs drizzle with a little honey for the sweetness!. Cook in a low temp oven for a couple of hours with just a couple drops of water in the pan!. Cool completely refridgerate overnight then grill them to heat them up!. Or just eat straight out of the oven!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Brown sugar isn't mandatory!. Here's my rub-

1/4 cup cumin
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup paprika
1/4 cup chili powder
1 tbsp red pepper
1/4 cup salt
1/4 cup black pepper
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic

After mixing it together, pour a little in your palm and taste it!. It will be heavy on the cumin, but this is the rub I use all summer long!. If it seems like too much, cut the recipe in half!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't add brown sugar to mine!. I use chili powder (plus some chipolte chili powder), paprika, garlic powder, cumin, dried oregano - salt & pepper!. If you want to use sauce too, just brush it on the last 5 mins!. or so, before the ribs are done!.!.!.!.!. (in oven or on BBQ)!. Sweet BBQ seems to be more popular in the Eastern Southern states - Texas BBQ isn't usually sweet!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've never tried this recipe but it looks good!.!.!.when I searched the internet for recipes I found you were right and most include brown sugar! This one doesn't!.!.!.!.
