Is there a difference between waffle batter and pancake batter?!

Question: Is there a difference between waffle batter and pancake batter!?
My girlfriend and I are in an argument and she thinks that there is a difference!. Is there!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Yes there is!. At least my recipe!. The waffle batter always has more butter in it and is a lighter batter than the pancake!.

You & your girlfriend should find other things to argue about!. Pancakes and waffles are for eating, not arguing about!. Ideally with maple syrup :-)Www@FoodAQ@Com

It all depends upon the recipe for differences in the amount of oil or butter as well as some waffle batter recipes call for the egg whites to be whipped and folded in last making a fluffier waffle!.

Personally, I use 2 different recipes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

while you can use the smae batter to make a pancake and waffle, there definately is a difference!. the other guys are right waffle batter has more fat (melted butter if you ask me) that's what makes the waffles crunchier than pancakes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

a waffle batter is made just as pancake batter!.but,an egg white is beaten stiff and then added to the batter,,,,this accounts for the Crisp of a waffle!.!.!.!.Granted, you can use pancake batter,,,,but it will not have the same texture!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can make waffles with a standard pancake batter!. But there are many variations!. For instance, Belgian waffles are actually made with a yeast batter!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Depends on the recipe you have (some may be like super specialized) but for those common everyday ones, there's no difference!. i use the same recipe for waffles and pancakes on saturday mornings :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I also agree that there is a difference!. Waffle batter leaves a crispier outer coating and taste more rich than pankcake batter (waffle looks too airy and thin)!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't think there is cuz you can make waffles and pancakes out of bisquick!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, the difference is that waffle batter contains some added oil!. Pancake batter doesn't!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

nope just looks the sameWww@FoodAQ@Com
