I can do this, so could my father!. He was a professional chef so I have always had good food to eat and he was a great example to me!. I took an interest in cooking myself!. When I would go to a restaurant and order my entree, I would savor the flavor!. Over time I was able to figure out what the ingredients were and I would go home and recreate the recipe!. I would read cookbooks in my spare time!.!.!.!.that's before we had the internet at our fingertips!. Reading recipes and cooking with a variety of good ingredients is a great way to learn about textures and flavors!. It also helps to read the ingredients of the dish you are ordering and try to pick out the individual flavors!. I think it varies from person to person how long it takes to acquire this talent!. Practice makes perfect!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

It comes with practice!. Get someone to cook for you and have them quiz you with what's in it!. Then really focus on the taste of one of the ingredients alone!. Try it with things that taste really really different, like coriander or vanilla or cardamom!. I'm doing this with my husband, to get him more involved with my cooking!. He's already good with tasting beers so this is just a little jump!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

sort of!. I for sure can pick out most of the ingredients, if I have tasted it before!. Being a good cook doesn't have anything to do with it, in my opinion!. It depends on how good of a sense of taste you have and your past experiences in tasting to be able to recognize what you are tasting!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

well if you get experience and have good taste buds you will learn the difference in the spices but it does come from experience ,and you must use allot of ingredients to get familiar !.but don't worry about it

you will get betterWww@FoodAQ@Com

i can tell!.

it doesn't take long, it just takes the time to learn experiences - for example if you've never tasted cumin you'd never spot it in a dish - but once you taste it, you know what it is!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

cook seems to be my greatest talent!. I picked up tasting bug when I was around 15!. I 'm also allergic to Cinnamon which is is in everything so I taught myself to be careful!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I can for the ingredients that I normally cook with!. If there was a dish with some crazy spices - say saffron or something like that, I'm not sure I'd be able to pick it out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I can tell sometimes!.!.!. It usuallyy doesn't take very long a few months at most!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

sometimes not alwaysWww@FoodAQ@Com
