Question: Is there a substitute for shortning!?
i want to make this recipe but i dont have shortning is there any thing you can use as a substituteWww@FoodAQ@Com

Margarine or butter!. If the recipe calls for melted shortening, use vegetable oil!. If it's a frosting recipe, don't substitute!. For some things like biscuits, the shortening is what makes it flaky and it won't come out as nice with butter or margarine!. When you're making bread, it's fine to use butter or margarine instead!. Muffins and cookies will work with butter or margarine instead but the cookies may come out crisper!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
