Something that i like to use (esp when im trying to cut weight) is:
1!. precook whatever amount of rice u want
2!. precook whatever amount of veggies u want (i like to use corn, peas, green beans, and broccoli!.
3!. Since u want shrimp, precook ur shrimp at this time as well
4!. lightly cook 6-12 oz!. of chicken breast in a skillet
5!. after 4 or 5 min, cut the chicken up into small pieces
6!. add the rice, veggies, shrimp, and chicken into the skillet and cook until chicken is completely done!.
U can add whatever seasonings u want at this point!. When im bulking, i like to add in some teriyaki, bit of salt, chicken seasoning, pepper, and some Parmesan cheese!. When im cutting, i will use very little of all these b/c of the salt content, but will still use a bit for flavor!.
U can make this is larger quantities and refrigerate it for use at anytime (this makes it much easier later on b/c u dont have to cook it)!.
also, when u precook the shrimp, make sure it is completely done b4 u add it in with everything else or otherwise it may burn!. As for the rice and veggies, they may be cooked fully, i have never had ne problems with this!.
as a side note, i noticed on ur page that ur into diet and fitness and the like!. If u ever have ne questions, feel free to email me!. I have my M!.S!. in Exercise Physiology and am working on my Ph!.D!., specializing in neuromuscular and endocrine physiology!. I have also had much experience with nutrition as well!. So i am qualified to answer any questions u may have, and do this for many people on this site as well as in person!. And i c that ur trying to build mass, which is what i am best at and the main emphasis of my speciality

1 cup long grain brown rice
1/4 cup freeze dried mixed vegetables (see variation)
1 tablespoon dry green pepper
1 teaspoon dry parsley

1 teaspoon brown sugar
Pinch Turmeric (for color)
3 tablespoon dry milk powder
Combine all of the ingredients in a resealable plastic container!. I like to use zip-lock bags!. Label and Seal and the container!. Store on the pantry shelf!. This is enough for 1 package of mix!. Make several at a time for the most conveneince!.
To Prepare:
2 tablespoons margarine
1 package of Creamy Garden Vegetable Rice Mix
2-1/2 cups water
In a 2 quart saucepan combine the margarine, Rice Mix and water!. Bring the mixture to a boil!. Place a lid on the pot!. Reduce the heat to the lowest possible flame!. Cook the mixture for 45 minutes over low heat!. Serve hot!.
Variation: you can use an 8 oz can of mixed vegetables instead of the freeze dried!. Prepare the dry mix above, omitting the freeze dried vegetables!. Place the package of dry mix in a paper bag with an 8 oz can of mixed vegetables!. When you prepare the cooked rice, reduce the water to 2 cups and add the undrained can of mixed vegetables along with the margarine!.
White Bean and Garden Rice: Cook the Creamy Garden Vegetable Rice as directed!. Add a well drained 15 oz can of navy beans with the margarine and rice mix!. Cook as directed!. Makes a lovely main dish!.

Read the directions on the box for cooking instructions!. It can vary!. When making brown rice, I tend to add a little more water than recommended and cook it for a little longer!. It makes the rice a little more tender and more similar in texture to white rice!.
If you'd like more flavor, add some seasonings and bouillon!. I tend to mimic the seasonings in the dish I'm serving it with!. If it's something like a garlic shrimp, add a little garlic to the rice while it's cooking!. Chicken or vegetable bouillon is good for extra flavor as well!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

one cup of rice, two cups of water!.!.!. bring to a boil, stir often!. when it boils, put a lid on the pot and turn to low!. brown rice needs about a half hour!. the more you open the lid, the longer it takes, but do stir about twice after putting on low!. once all the water is cooked out, your rice should be done!. add butter to your liking!. i also put a pinch of dry seasoning like: BBQ or Old Bay (that's my thing)
good luck!. glad to see a young cook with an open mind!.

Well, what i do is I fill a pot with water!. I pour in some rice and let it boil!. I taste the rice to see if its tender and then if it is, I take a strainer and pour out the water and put the rice back into the pot!. Add some salt and whatever you want and it done and easy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
