Soup/Home Cooked Food Recipies?!

Question: Soup/Home Cooked Food Recipies!?
Hi Guys does anyone happen to have some amazing recipies for soups specifically tomatoe!? or any good home cooked foods like sheppards pie from scratch basically me and my wife have a baby comming in 4 weeks and would be good to have some recipies to work on rather than keep using frozen foods even though using fresh foods might be slightly more expensive but then for example if we were to do sheppards pie the potatoes we ould be able to use again in different foods!. A great response on this question would be very greatfull :) thanks in advanceWww@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
just a tip - if you have a baby coming, then start cooking some dinners - but make double the quantity and freeze half!. When your baby arrives, the last thing you will want to be doing is cooking, trust me!
Cottage Pie - (this is just how I make mine, I am sure there are much better recipes out there!)

one onion
clove of garlic
one carrot
pack of minced beef/lamb/pork/turkey
OXO cube
Worcestershire Sauce (optional)
a couple of tbsp of flour
potatoes
butter
milk

finely chop the onion, garlic and dice the carrot (make sure its very small)!. Soften them in a pan!. Add the minced meat and brown it!. Sprinkle some worcestershire sauce in!. Crumble the OXO cube over the meat mixture, add the flour, and stir it in!. Pour a little hot water over the mix and stir - the water combines with the flour whilst cooking in the oven to give a nice gravy!. Boil the potatoes, drain, add a knob of butter and mash them!. Use a little milk to get the desired consistency of the mashed potatoes!. Put the meat mix in a suitable cooking dish, and spread the potato over it!. Put in the oven until the top is a golden brown!.

Hope thats of some help :)

Brown Windsor Soup recipe

This classic hearty soup was very popular at the castle in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries!. Queen Victoria was particularly fond of it and Brown Windsor Soup regularly appeared on state banquet menus!.

Serves 4

2 Tablespoons butter
1/4 pound stewing steak
1/4 pound lamb steak (or mutton if available)
4 cups beef stock
1 medium onion, peeled and sliced
1 carrots, peeled and sliced
1 parsnip, peeled and sliced
2 Tablespoons flour
1 Bouquet Garni
salt and pepper
1/4 teaspoon of chilli powder
1/2 cup cooked rice
1/4 cup Madeira

Cut the lamb and beef into 1 inch cubes and roll in the flour!.
Place the butter in a large pot over a low to medium heat!. It is important not to turn the heat up too high since the butter burns easily!. We want it to go brown, but not black!. Fry the meat off for 3 minutes and then add the rest of the flour and fry for a minute longer till the butter/flour is a golden brown!.

Now add the sliced veg and stir in the stock, Throw in the bouquet garni, partially cover the pot, and simmer for 2 hours!.

Puree the soup before adding the cooked rice stir in the rice and serve!. Traditionally a tablespoon of Madeira would be stirred into the soup at the table!.

Home made pizza recipe

To make the base you need 4oz Self raising flour 3/4 oz of Marge and a pinch of salt!. Mix those all together til it resembles breadcrumbs!. Then add enough milk to mix it all together making a dough like substance, it needs to be together enough for you to roll it out!.

It then sits in the bottom of your frying pan you can add a little bit of oil but if you have a non stick pan its not necessary you then chuck any topping you like on while it is in the pan I generally use tomatoe paste for the base then ham mushroom and planty of cheese! Then turn your grill on and put the frying pan under it to top it all off make sure the handle pokes out!

Enjoy! Its been a firm family favourite in my house since I was a kid and as you can add anything you like most people will eat it!.

Veggie Lasagne

Ingredients
2 tbsp light olive oil
1 medium onion
4 cloves
1 red pepper
1 green pepper
2 zucchini
8 oz mushrooms
3-4 cans chopped tomatoes in tomato juice
fresh basil
2 oz flour
2 oz butter
1 pint milk
3 oz mozzarella
2 oz cheddar
sheets of lasagne (NOT pre-cook lasagne!)

Heat the oven to whatever temperature is recommended on the lasagne box!.

Heat the olive oil in a big pot
chop onion and add to pot
chop garlic and add to pot
chop other vegetables fairly small (? inch pieces) and add to pot
keep stirring to keep from sticking!
add cans of chopped tomatoes
add fresh basil - don’t skimp!. The more, the better!.
bring to boil and keep at a high temperature to allow tomato sauce to reduce!.

Grate the cheeses!. You need about two cups of grated cheese!.
Heat the butter in a pot!.
Add the flour and stir until the mixture makes a dryish ball on the bottom of the pot!.
Add the milk, just a little at a time, and blend into the ball of flour with a metal whisk!. Make sure the milk is evenly absorbed before adding more!.
Once all the milk is in the pot, bring to the boil while whisking madly! Failure to whisk madly will result in a lumpy sauce!.
When the sauce boils it will get thicker!. This is good!.
Add most of the grated cheese (but keep half a cup aside) and keep the temperature up until all the cheese has melted!. By now the sauce should be the consistency of heavy cream!. If it’s too runny, add more cheese!. If it’s very thick and not runny enough, add a tiny bit more milk!.

By the time the cheese sauce is ready the tomato and veg sauce should have reduced so that there is no liquid left and the sauce is quite thick!.

Turn off the heat under the sauces!.

Using a ladle, pour some of the cheese mixture into a lasagne dish!.
Add sheets of lasagne along the bottom of the dish!.
Add a layer of tomato and veg sauce!.
The another layer of lasagne!.
Then another layer of cheese sauce!.
Add a second layer of tomato and veg sauce
and another layer of lasagne
and finally a layer of cheese sauce!.
Sprinkle the remaining half cup of grated cheese over the top!.
Put in oven and cook for the time recommended on the lasagne box!.

Bread Fritters;
Go to the bakery section of the store where you normally buy bread!.
Ask the baker for an "unbaked" loaf of bread!.
He must put exactly the same amount of dough he would have used to bake a bread with in to a plastic bag for you, and it would cost no more than a loaf of bread!.

Take that home and in a pot warm some cooking oil to about half the depth of the pot!. (Smaller pots take less oil than bigger ones do)!.!.!.
The oil temperature should be medium hot!. (About half the heat that the stove plate will go)

Now cut from the unbaked dough a slice about the size ofWww@FoodAQ@Com
