Answers:
Get the basic Betty Crocker or Better Homes & Gardens cookbook!. It has charts for substitutions, amounts of ingredients, menu suggestions; with photos on different techniques!. It's a book you'll have for life, no matter how good you become! It has tons of recipes for just about anything you want to make too!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There is a lot out there that will help you learn how to cook!. There are books, shows, people, and yourself!.

As far as books go, you can easily get something from Barnes and Noble, or if you want to speak to someone who know about cooking, go to a kitchen store (such as Sur La Table, Williams Sanoma, or Crate and Barrel) and ask them for a good reference book for a beginner!. One book I have is call The Good Cook by Anne Willan!. While it is not entirely for beginners, it does have plenty of techniques on how to cook certain things along with step by step pictures, and it include recipes for you to try!. also, and as much as I hate her I do have to mention this, Rachel Ray has some great books for learning how to cook with easy and simple recipes!.

If you don't feel like reading, watch the Food Network!. I despite all the books I have, nothing has been as valuable to me than the Food Network!.

One of the best ways though is to get in the kitchen with other people and learn from them!. Parents and Grandparents are a lot of help!. They will teach you everything you need to know and are always willing to slow down and let you try everything or even let you cook the meal with them helping you along the way!.

Another big help in learning how to cook is yourself!. Since cooking is not an exact science, you can teach yourself most of what you need to know with the help of a few simple recipes!. Trail and error has never failed me in learning a certain technique or how to cook a certain type of food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

My tried and true suggestion for everyone in your situation is to pick your favorite foods, how do you like them prepared when you eat out and then find recipes!. The food networks website is a great resource!. They have videos showing you how to cook and when you search a food type they rate how easy they are to make!. Any book with step-by-step will be best for a beginner!.

I have a website all about easy cooking!. The recipes for the most part are simple and fantastic!. When you can, take a look around, give some a try!. I give good instructions!.
