How do you make a frosting, icing, or glaze with stale soda?!
I've got 2 weeks to make this, and lots of stale soda, cherry coke, coke classic, squirt, and diet 7-up!. My son's birthday is the 13th of September, and he loves surprising fun cakes!. I've got the cake thing going on but I would like to make a special icing, glaze or frosting that is different than the typical, ordinary topping!. Do you have any ideas using stale soda!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, I own my own bakery, so I have a few ideas!.
Did you know you can use the soda IN the cake too!? Here is a ''soda'' cake recipe:
1 cup Coca-Cola or Pepsi
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 3/4 cups sugar
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cocoa
t tsp baking soda
Mix all together well and pour batter into greased and floured 13 x 9 inch pan!. Bake at 325 degrees for 40-45 minutes!. Remove from oven; cool for 10 minutes!.
Now, use the ''soda'' for the icing too:
Soda Frosting
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/3 cup Coca-Cola
3 tablespoons cocoa
1 (16 OZ) package powered sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Bring first 3 ingredients to a boil in a large saucepan over medium heat, stirring until butter melts!. Remove from heat, whisk in sugar and vanilla!. Pour over warm cake while frosting is hot!. OR if you let the cake cool and want thicker frosting, add another 16 OZ to the above recipe to thicken it up, and spread on the cake after it is cool!. Yummy!.
You can add ''soda'', dark like coke/pepsi or clear like sprite, to cakes and frosting!. Substitute the ''liquid'' in any recipe for the soda!.

First, You can use soda in your cake mix instead of water!. Then you may want to boil some down to a syrup and make a "boiled frosting" just look for a recipe!.
Then you could make jello with some of the soda!. Thicken it and make jigglers as part of the decorations on the cake!. Or pour warm jello on the cake to sweeten it and give it a "pudding cake" consistency!.
Third and lastly, freeze some and make shaved ice or snow cones b y pour more of the syrup (say cherry coke) over classic coke icee!.
Have fun!. Be sure to use the empty bottles as party favors and/or games!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
