By making one's own pizzas is there a great saving made?!
One must consider the cost of energy as well as the costs of ingredients!. How much cheaper is it to make ones own pizza!? One half the price!? One tenth!? Has anyone ever attempted to quantify the savings!? Or, if time is money, and ones time is worth a lot of money, perhaps no saving would be realized!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Interesting question - because it hinges on what type of pizza you are making at home!. I've got a teen son and a husband, both who eat like horses, so volume is also a concern!. also, of course, the time involved!. Usually I'm pretty pooped after I've made the dough, then while it's rising, cut up all the toppings, shred the cheese, etc!., then bake them!.!.!.
At home, I double my crust recipe, so it makes two large jelly-roll pans and one round pizza pan - and not a very thick crust!. Once you add up the cost of the tomato sauce, biggest cost of course is the variety of meats, then the cheeses, other toppings - we use green pepper, mushroom, onion - I'm not so sure it's cost efficient!. However, my son totally prefers my pizza to any bought one - from a pizza place or frozen, so that's totally cool!
We have some really good pizza places where we are - one nearby has a great loaded pizza - and with a coupon we can get two extra large for around $30, and that feeds the three of us!.
Another option for us has been that we have found a pretty decent frozen pizza at one of our local grocery stores - it's a rising crust pizza (similar to Delissio in Canada, which I think is DiGiorno (spelling!?) in the US!. - But, it's better!. And they go on sale for $5 or $6 each, so I make three of those for a meal!.

Store bought pizzas from the store and even pizza places do not compare!.They all taste like cardboard with plain painted on tomato sauce and very little cheese !.Homemade pizzas weigh much more and are healthier and so much more tastier, they may cost a few cents more when you factor in time and energy !. but we do not skimp on ingredients lots of cheese , pepperoni etc !.!. and use wholesome ingredients not full of unknown things!.After you have made your homemade pizza, pick it up and feel the difference in the weight and savor that homemade aroma !. There is just nothing like it actually ounce for ounce it is probably cheaper than bought and can satisfy your hunger and taste buds at the same time Homemade pizza dough may sound intimidating but is actually simple and easy to make and tates fantastic I do not even measure I eyeball the amounts so worth it the store bought dough is hard and tasteless have to choke it down UGH!
