Does a gas smoker cook better than an electric smoker?!
I have cooked with charcoal but now I looking for something a little bit faster to get started cooking with!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
No!.
Gas is hotter and drier!.
Electrics are easier to control and heat is more consistent!.
Charcoal has more flavor!.
All have their intended purposes and are rarely interchangable!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If your "smoking" - it doesn't matter because you want to take your time!. If you're talking about getting the smoker to come up to heat, then an electric is better - but an electric is expensive to run!.
If you've got one shot at it, get a 4 or 5 burner gas grill and offest the food you're smoking from the flame!.
The best smokers are actually earthenware!. Heavy and expensive but if you're seriously about smoking - that's the way to go!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

This whole question is confusing at best!.
Are we talking or referring to cooking, or smoking the food!?
For food smoking, hurry or quick is not the object as smoking requires a lot of time for the smoke to permeate the meat, especially if the food is to be "cold smoked"!.
For just grill cooking,, like fast steaks, chops, hot dogs or whatever, then it's a matter of taste, and charcoal is as good or better than most, but it is not a fast because of the fact you have to light the coals and then wait for them to get to the right stage to start cooking!.
For real smoking, just about any heat source is good if smoking wood chips or saw dust!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
