I don't but a lot of people do but I saw on the news (one of the cooking segments that they do) where they said not to!. You can pat it dry with some paper towels but when you rinse the chicken you are rinsing all the chicken germs around your sink!. And until you sterilize your sink those germs are sitting there ready to make you sick!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
The latest research shows that from a health point of view, washing is not necessary!. Any microbes that you'd wash off will be entirely destroyed by heat when you cook the meat!. It's actually far more important to wash your hands, your cutting board, and your utensils since they won't be sterilized by cooking!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
i wash it because sometimes in the supermarket or the factory where they wrap it, it is dropped onto the floor!. it can have other things on it besides germs!. also, when a butcher cuts it with a saw, there can be shards of bone on it!. i also take off any excess fat that i can, less calories and better for you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
You should remove all the skin and fat and wash it with lemon juice or vinegar!.
This will eliminate the raw smell, nutralise the bacteria and cut exsess fat!.Always use cold water and dont keep it in the vinegar or lemon juice for long cause the acid will pre-cook it!.
It's healthier and tastier when you wash it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes you wash whole chicken as there could be yukky bits still inside, and you don't know how they have been handled before freezing!.
Cooking will destroy most things admittedly, but for me I can't afford the health risk Www@FoodAQ@Com
