How do you make chewy ginger biscuits? ?!


Question: How do you make chewy ginger biscuits!? !?
Ive only got a little bit of syrup 400g

Ingredients

* 3/4 Cup butter, softened (no marg!)
* 1 cup sugar
* 1/4 cup dark molasses
* 1 egg
* 1/2 tsp ground cloves or allspice
* 1/2 tsp ground ginger
* 1 tsp cinnamon
* 2 tsp baking soda
* 1/2 tsp salt
* 3 1/2 oz or 100 grams of crystallized ginger, chopped fine


Directions

1!. Oven at 375F!.
2!. Combine softened butter, sugar, molasses and egg!. Beat well!.
3!. Mix dry ingredients together well!.
4!. Add wet to dry!. Mix well!.
5!. Add crystallized ginger!.
6!. Chill for 1 hour (or several hours, i have even chilled overnight!)
7!. Form 1 inch balls, roll each in granulated sugar!.
8!. Place on greased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart!.
9!. Bake 8-10 minutes!. Do not overbake!

extra sugar for coating

Preheat oven to 350°F (200°C)!.

Cream the butter and the sugar!.

Add the egg and stir in the molasses!.

Combine the baking soda, flour, spices and salt in a separate bowl!.

Combine the wet and dry mixtures!.

Shape into small (2 cm diameter) balls and roll in granulated sugar!.

Place on greased cookie sheet!. Do not flatten balls!.

Bake for about 11 minutes!.
