What should I add to store bought alfredo sauce? Anyone have tips?!
Answers:
Store bought sauces can be quite bland!.!.!. I always saute chopped onion and a lot of extra garlic before adding the sauce to the pan!. Depending what you eat your alfredo sauce with (pasta, meat or fish) you have a wide variety of choices for further flavor!. I like heat so chili peppers go in!.!.!. You could also add a cup or so of tomato sauce to create a creamy tomato sauce or rose sauce as it is known!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
This is one of my favorites:
Grill some boneless skinless chicken breast
cook pasta according to box ( I like penne)
chop some zucchini, squash, red, yellow and green peppers and steam them (I like to use the new microwave steam bags)!.
Toss everything into a skillet!. Add the alfredo sauce and mix it well!. Add a little romano cheese for extra cheesy goodness and enjoy!.
It sounds like a lot of work (but is really easy), but there should be plenty of leftovers and it heats up well!.

Sliced mushrooms !.!.!. fresh chopped herbs (basil, rosemary, oregano) !.!.!. sliced green onions !.!.!. shredded cooked chicken !.!.!. (DON'T add ground beef, like someone else suggested)!. Like another answer, I also use a little alfredo sauce (mixed with crushed garlic) as the base for white pizza!. Just a thin layer, with a layer of fresh mozzarella, then fresh spinach leaves, sun roasted peppers, artichoke hearts, kalamata olives, and topped with a small container of feta cheese and bake!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Chopped fresh herbs are great! You can also add some minced garlic or onion!. Vegetables are good too, like peas, mushrooms, even broccoli!. You can add the veggies/onion/garlic to the sauce before heating it, but add the fresh herbs at the last minute!. Happy eating! :)Www@FoodAQ@Com
Saute some garlic & mushrooms and add fresh parsley!. White sauces are so easy to make, next time you should try to make your own:
