Answers:
Angus is a breed of cattle that have a higher cutability (how easy it is to cut the meat) than other breeds!. The most common known is the Black Angus, but there is also the Red Angus, which is just as good, but will not fetch as much at the auction barn as a black hided cow will!. That is why people will breed Angus to whatever to get a bigger animal!. Bigger animal, more meat, higher price yield!.

When a super market sells Angus beef, it is highly unlikely that you are getting a 100% Angus cut of meat!. More often than not, it is mixed with a Hereford to create a Black Baldy or even with some Brahma thrown in there for size (Brahma cattle can get HUGE)!. As a previous person said, the beef is aged for a while!.

Hamburger meat in general is a mystery!. Hamburger is actually not any one cut of meat, it's the bits and pieces that aren't good for anything else!.

If you want a good burger, eat a steak burger!. It's not ground chuck like a hamburger is, it is ground steak, which makes for a delicious burger!. also, with a hamburger, you can't choose how you want it cooked because it will likely make you sick!. You can pick if you want medium-well, etc with a steak burger!.

also, I don't know if people realize this, but if you were to see the animals you were eating pre-slaughter, you may not want to eat them!. The animals that can't produce a decent cut of meat are automatically made into hamburger!. This includes old cows that can't have calves due to age or health, animals with broken legs, bulls that are too big to breed or that are old, and other sickly looking animals!. Now, that does not mean that the animals are sick when they are slaughtered, that's not legal, they just look horrible when they go to the feed lots!. They are in better shape when they do finally go to the slaughter house!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

'Angus' is a breed of cattle that originated in Scotland (Angus is a region of Scotland)!. Angus cattle are black or red!. Some people claim that angus beef is superior; as far as your supermarket is concerned it may simply be a marketing ploy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
