Is it alright if I cook other things with my dry beans when I cook them?!

Question: Is it alright if I cook other things with my dry beans when I cook them!?
Normally, I would cook the beans first and then add the other chili ingredients to the pot!. But, tomorrow I am going to be at work all day!. So, I was wondering if it would be okay to put the other chili ingredients in the slow cooker with my beans in the morning!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Sure, just don't add any salt, tomatoes, or acidic ingredients (lime juice, etc!.)!. They make the beans stay hard, even after hours of cooking!. Put the salt in during the last ten minutes of cooking after the beans are already tender!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sure!. Add some garlic and dry onion flakes!. Then right before you head off the work add some cooked or raw chopped onions, garlic and cooked hamburger!.

Refresh the flavor just a bit when you get home by adding a little more chili powder!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yep, but soak the beans overnight first, they are more tender in the end that way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
