Okay, those answer I thought were kinda confusing, and some of them weren't right!.
If it works for you, then great!. If not, then give this a shot!.

For the crust, you can buy pre-made pie crusts at the grocery store next to the canned biscuts and cinnamon rolls and such!. Some have them in the frozen foods section, so just look around!. 9-inch pie is the standard, so you'll find it easy!.
If not, then you can find a simple pie crust recipe in any cookbook, as well as on foodnetwork!.com, recipezaar!.com, allrecipes!.com, or any other recipe site that you like!.

Lattices are a fairly simple thing to make, and they look great!. Its the woven top of a traditional pie!. You cut the top crust into 7 strips!. Lay 4 strips across the top of the pie!. Now, pull back strips 1 and 3 almost all the way, and lay down a separate strip of dough!. Then put 1 and 3 back to normal, so that you have a strip going under 1 and 3, and over 2 and 4!. Then do the same thing, pulling back 2 and 4, lay down another strip, and replace 2 and 4!. Repeat with the last strip, using 1 and 3 again!.
You can find a video of this on Youtube!.com, it's kinda hard to explain in writing!. But its super easy to do once you've seen it done!. Don't worry!.

As for the last part, the sugar and butter mixture is a sauce that you've made!. The flour/butter paste will dissolve in the water, thickening it into a nice creamy sauce!. After you've put down your top crust, pour this over slowly, getting it on the crust and into the pie!. You do this slow so that it won't run off the edges, let it trickle down!. Inside the pie, it will bring a great sweet flavor and a nice creamy, sticky texture!. On the crust, it will brown really nice and give you a very pretty crust!.

Hope this helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com

1) Just buy the crust from the market, usually in the frozen food section of the market!.
2) Be sure to buy two pie crust and use the second one for the lattice work by thawing it out on the counter!. When it is thawed out cut it into strips and weave it onto your apple pie!.
3) Put it before the lattice work!.

Good luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Crust
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
10 tablespoons (1 1/4 sticks) chilled unsalted butter, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
1/3 cup chilled solid vegetable shortening, diced
6 tablespoons (or more) ice water
Preparation
For crust: Blend flour, sugar and salt in processor!. Add butter and shortening and cut in using on/off turns until mixture resembles coarse meal!. Add 6 tablespoons ice water and process until moist clumps form, adding more water by teaspoonfuls if dough is dry!. Gather into ball; divide into 2 pieces!. Flatten each into disk!. Wrap each in plastic; chill 2 hours!. (Can be made 2 days ahead!. Keep chilled!. Let dough soften slightly before rolling out!.)
Roll out 1 dough disk on floured surface to 12-inch round!. Transfer to 9-inch-diameter glass pie dish!. Fold edge under, forming high-standing rim; crimp!. Add filling!. Roll out second dough disk on floured surface to 13-inch round!. Cut into twelve 1-inch-wide strips!. Arrange 6 strips across pie!. Form lattice by arranging 6 strips diagonally across first strips!. Gently press ends into crust edges!. Brush lattice with milk!. Sprinkle lightly with additional sugar!. Bake pie 10 minutes!. Reduce oven temperature to 375°F!. Continue baking until juices bubble thickly and crust is deep golden, covering edges with foil if browning too quickly, about 1 hour 20 minutes!. Cool on rack 1 hour!. (Can be made 8 hours ahead!. Let stand on rack!.) Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can make or buy a crust; but a double crust means one on the top and one on the bottom!. The bottom one, as you can guess, holds the apple mixture and the top one covers the mixture!. I think they mean you pour the sugar and butter mixture overall; it will seep into the crust and make it crisp!.

In this recipe, you will not make a top crust, but you use the dough for one to make a lattice-work crust They are simple to make, but you need directions and pictures to see how!. I would get a good cookbook and see if you can follow it!. Basically, you make a top crust, cut it into strips, and weave it over and under to form the lattice!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

A 9 inch crust recipe is the average pie crust recipe you can make it from scratch but if inexperienced I'd recommend buying a Pillsbury's ready made pie crust you get two rounds cut and ready to use in a box and My own mother couldn't tell it's not homemade look in grocery store by refrigerated cookies and biscuits
a lattice is woven pie dough that leaves gaps you can see the filling in the gaps Have you ever woven construction paper in school or seen a
white fence on someones house!? cut the dough intended for top of pie into same width strips lay four pieces left to right on top of pie spaced with the width of a strip in between each then turn the pie so that the pieces go up and down lift the first and third piece lay a new strip down left to right return strip one and two to its original position then lift strips 2 and four and put another strip down leaving some space
repeat process until pie is covered pinch all pieces together around the outer edge
the flour paste is what make the thick gooey liquid in the pie
I pour over just apples then top with lattice but your recipe seems to say after I don't think it will hurt to do it after you cover with top
