Most guys love meat - how about a nice, thick, medium to medium-rare filet mignon with a slab of blue cheese compound butter on top and maybe some crisp-fried shallots piled high for texture and presentation!. Garlicky mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus with Romesco sauce to go with!. If you want to include dessert, I'd suggest something small and light after all that protien and carbs, but intensely flavoured to set him alight with desire - perhaps a little individual dark chocolate lava cake with a Port reduction sauce!. Great colours and there's just nothing sexier than chocolate oozing out all over the plate!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm puzzling over whether you want him back, or just want him to see what he's missing!. Without more to go on about what he likes, forgive me if I stereotype your old flame as a meat-lover, specifically beef!.
If so, here are three impressive offerings that I posted on Suite101:
* Steak au Poivre (Pepper Steak) -- Add a baked potato with all the fixins and either some steamed asparagus or broccoli or maybe just a spinach salad!.
* Beef Bourguignon -- This hearty french classic from Burgundy is less expensive than steak, but every bit as impressive!.
* Belgian Beef Stew (Carbonnade Flammade) which is similar to Beef Burgundy but is beer based!. Does he like to drink beer better than wine!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Pasta with pesto, grape tomatoes, and spicy Italian sausage!. Have a green salad on the side and mini cupcakes for dessert!. You can buy fresh pasta in the grocery store that will taste wonderful and fresh pesto sauce as well!. If they don't have grape tomatoes then cherry tomatoes will work if you slice them in half!. Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com
