Baking cookies- forgot baking powder..read?!
will this make a big difference!? will it not taste the same!? it only acquired for 1 tablespoon!. will it taste bad!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
It won't affect the taste, but it they will be more dense and flatter, since baking powder helps the cookies rise!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Substitutes (for 1 TB):
Combine 1 teaspoon cream of tartar plus 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
OR 3 teaspoon baker’s ammonia (This yields a very light, airy product, but can impart an ammonia flavor to baked goods!. It's best used in cookies, which are flat enough to allow the ammonia odor to dissipate during cooking!.) Www@FoodAQ@Com
