What are some things I can do with tomatoes?!
Bonjour!. SO I want ot make something with these tomatoes I have!. I want to make something that freezes lately, I was thinking a sauce or something!. Ideas!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

you wouldn't even have to freeze a sauce if you have mason jars!. all you have to do is sterilize the jars and make sure you fill them with hot sauce!.!.!. you could also make ketchup!.!. not like a chunky one!.!. more like a smooth ketchup and jar it in funky jars!.!. give them away at Christmas for presents or something!.
quantites are not exact!.!. i really eyeball it according to how i'm feeling, but here's a recipe:
onions - sweat them out for 15 minutes (dice them)
using a mortar and pestel add 2 tsp fennel + 2 tsp corrainder and 4 cloves and mash it up!.
and 2 pieces of ginger, chopped, 4 cloves of garlic, chopped, 1 chili pepper (with or without the seeds if you want it spicy or not), chopped!.
put all these ingredients in a large pan or a pot!. Add the following:
salt and pepper
1 kg of ripe tomatoes
1 large handful of chopped basil STEMS, add the leaves at the end!.
then add 1 L of canned, crushed tomatoes plus brown sugar to taste and some red wine vinegar!.
Cook it all for 45 minutes then add the chopped basil leaves and turn off the pan!.
Put it through the blender or use and immersion mixer, pass it through a sieve/colander and then jar it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

1 kg onions, chopped
1 1/2 tablespoons curry powder
1 1/2 tablespoons salt
2 teaspoons mustard powder
2 cups vinegar
2 tablespoons cornflour
Place all ingredients except for cornflour into a saucepan and boil for 30 minutes!. Mix cornflour to a paste with a little water and add to the tomatoes, stir to combine and allow to cook for a further 5 minutes!.
Pour into sterilised jars and seal!.

Chile starter!.!.!.peel and cut up tomatoes add celery, onions and green pepper, season with salt, pepper and chile powder simmer down until it is the thickness you like!. Cool down and put in containers and freeze or else can in sterile jars and hot water bath for 20 min pints and 30 min quarts!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
