How do you keep a record of your family's recipes?!
I have dozens of papers all stacked together on which I wrote down recipes the day I made the items!. Along with those lists of ingredients, I have notes on what measuring tools/techniques were used, how to change the recipe to accommodate more people, how it varies from season to season, and just side-notes that I want to keep track of!.
I would like some help putting together a record of these recipes so that I could use it as a reference!. If you have any experience or have done something similar before, I'd appreciate the help!.
I do have an idea of what I might want to do, but I thought I'd ask the experts first!.
Note: I'm not trying to publish anything, it's just a reference for me!. Which means it will most likely be in notebook format or index cards!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can certainly compile these recipes in a variety of ways!. Note cards kept in boxes are common, you can laminate them to help keep them clean!. also, there are recipe kits available in some bookstores that contain binders, pages, recipe cards, basically everything you'll need to complete the job!. The last suggestion I have would be to compile you recipes (etc!.) onto a disk and then have a single bound book made for yourself (more if you want to give them away) at your local office store (staples, office depot, etc)!. Include extra blank pages so that you can make any further notes needed!. The last is limited since you'll be adding recipes as time goes along and they'd have to be written by hand!. You can always opt (depending how quickly you compile recipes) to redo this book every 5 to 10 years!. Good luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I put mine on 3x5 cards, and have filed them in a pocket photo album!. I removed the paper inside each pocket that keeps the photos from sticking together, and wrote my notes on the cack of the recipes!. This way I can see the notes just by flipping the page!. I have them divided into categories by taking those tabbed notebook dividers!. I just cut them down to fit the photo album and punched holes to fit the album rings!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
when my grandmother passed away i inherited her recipes and when my aunt passed away i inherited hers too!. Together with my own that i created i made a collection of recipe cards and sorted them according to what category they fell under: Example Cakes, Breads, Biscuits, Dessert, Main Courses i sub divided to Vegetarian, beef, lamb, chicken, seafood and Starters etc!. It works really wellfor me and i can find things really easily also its easy to keep organised!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
