Presto Marinara Sauce
1 (28-ounce) can plum tomatoes, including liquid
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion, minced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
6 basil leaves or 1/2 teaspoon dried basil, crumbled
Salt
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, or to taste
Transfer the tomatoes and liquid to a bowl and gently crush the tomatoes with your hands!.
Heat the oil in a saucepan, set over moderate heat until hot!. Add the onion and garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes!. Add the tomatoes and liquid, tomato sauce, basil, salt, and red pepper flakes, bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes!.
Meanwhile, cook the pasta!. Drain the pasta and transfer to a large bowl!. Add sauce and toss to coat!. Top with cheese!. Serve with a green salad and crusty bread!.
Variations: Mushroom Marinara Sauce: After onion and garlic have softened, add 1/2 pound fresh sliced mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes!. Continue with recipe as above!.
Tuna Marinara Sauce: Add 1 can Italian tuna, packed in oil, including oil, after sauce has simmered 10 minutes, and cook for an additional 5 minutes!.
Sausage Marinara Sauce: After onion and garlic have been softened, add 1/2 pound crumbled Italian (sweet or hot) sausage and cook, stirring, until no longer pink!. Add tomatoes and continue with recipe as above!.

1 onion, diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (14!.5 ounce) can Italian-style diced tomatoes, undrained
1 tablespoon dried basil leaves
3/4 teaspoon white sugar
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon butter
In a saucepan, saute onion and garlic in olive oil over medium heat!. Make sure it doesn't burn!. Add tomatoes, basil, sugar, oregano, salt and pepper!. Bring to boil and continue to boil 5 minutes or until most of the liquid evaporates!. Remove from heat; stir in whipping cream and butter!. Reduce heat and simmer 5 more minutes!.
Serves 5!.

Cheeseburger Macaroni --
1 lb!. ground beef
1/4 onion, minced
1 cloves garlic, minced
14 1/2 oz!. can (like 1/2) of your tomato Sauce
2 cups raw macaroni, (cook according to package directions and drain)
1 can Campbells Cheddar cheese soup
salt & pepper to taste
Saute the onion and garlic in a little olive oil!. Add the ground beef and brown!. Add the tomato Sauce!. Simmer until the liquid is mostly reduced!.!.!.5 to 10 minutes!. Stir in the macaroni and Cheddar cheese soup!. Heat through!.
You can always add more cooked macaroni if you need to stretch the dish a bit!.

1 pound box spaghetti noodles
1/2 cup milk
1 large egg
1/2 of your tomato Sauce
1 pound lean ground beef
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
13 x 9 glass baking dish
In a large stock pot boil water to cook spaghetti, follow package directions!. Drain!. Measure milk in large bowl, add egg, mix well, add spaghetti and mix well!.
While spaghetti is cooking brown ground beef in large saute pan!. Drain excess fat, return to pan and add the sauce!. Simmer on low!.
Lightly grease a 13 x 9 glass baking dish!. Pour spaghetti into dish, top with meat mixture and spread cheese on top!. Bake for 20-25 minutes uncovered or until cheese has melted!.
You could use a mild sausage for a different twist!.
