Answers:
It depends upon how many cups of coffee you want to make!. My :"rule of thumb" for making coffee is as follows: Usually there are coffee measures equal to a tablespoon, but if you don't have a coffee measure, you could use a measuring tablespoon:
2 tablespoons of coffee for 4 cups of coffee,
4 tablespoons of coffee for 6 cups of coffee,
6 tablespoons of coffee for 8 cups of coffee,
8 tablespoons of coffee for 10 cups of coffee,
10 tablespoons of coffee for 12 cups of coffee!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Depends on your coffee maker!.
Is it a perculator/ filter/ or cafitiere!?
More ground coffee than less is a general requirement!. Use freshly ground coffee and store in an airtight container in the freezer to maintain freshness!.
The fineness of the grain will also give you different results!. Make sure you get the right type of coffee for your filter, fine ground middle eastern coffee can block your filter if you're using a cafitiere so look at your packaging when buying coffee!.
When you pour your coffee the liquid should be black and not too thin!. If you are using an espresso machine (like they use in starbucks/ coffee house) the coffee should come out in a thin stream, before bending back on itself like a 'rats tail' (industry talk lol) once poured a good coffee should have a good 'creamer' on it (say it with a south african accent 'chreeamer') which is a light brown foam on top which indicates good coffee!. If you have no creamer you haven't added enough coffee to the mix!.
However all of this is tripe at the end of the day and it always comes down to personal taste!. Experiment, play around!. With coffee its always a learning experience!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
