Yes, if you can stomach the bitter taste!. Make sure to wash the skin thoroughly before consumption!. It is preferably better juiced with the skin on then eaten straight!. They also so sell candied orange peels in the organic food stores!. Consuming orange peels is rumored lower cholesterol (LDL- Bad Cholesterol)!. The compound found in the orange and tangerine peels is also found in other citrus fruits to reduce cholesterol!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Orange peels without the pith (the white part) is used in cooking and Frostings all the time!. Yes it is good for you per the other answerers!. Just eating it off the orange, would be quite bitter tasting due to the white pith!. It is often cooked in a sugar water until soft, then the water is changed and re done!. When the 2nd cooking is done, they are tossed with sugar until they cannot absorb more sugar!. These are called Candied Orange Peels!. Wonderful used in homemade jams and preserves, and just dipped in melted choc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the peel is full of essential oils and is used in a lot of foods - but they grate them so they don't taste as bad!.

You can eat them but they taste like crap!. They are full of anti oxidants, so I usually blend them in a smoothie, that way you can't really taste them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
