Most likely the steam I would say!. Open the lid away from you, wait a Moment for the steam to clear!. Use tongs if possible to remove meat instead of lifting a pan and taking it to the sink!. That would be easy to splash on you then you would just drop the whole thing leading to more burns!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
