Im making baked mac and cheese as the main dish, what should I have as a side? ?!
Answers:
steamed brocolli or asparagus!. I'v been hearing more often about bacon in macaroni and cheese!. always made sense to me however it seems now it's becoming more popular!. Never did understand why people need the bread with pasta!. I know it tastes good with it, but thats alot of starch! If you'r doing bread with i, you should have the steamed veg and a salad!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Drool! Cornbread is good!. Back in the day when people made mac and cheese in the oven they would add cornbread to cook at the same time in the oven!. You can also have some green beans and mashed potatoes are nice as well!. Of course, I'm from Louisiana so if I had some mac and cheese baking, I'd make some crawfish to go on the side, but since you might not be in an area that has crawfish available, a nice shrimp scampi without the noodles would be good!. It gives you some meat to the meal and it's super easy to make!. Olive oil, lots of garlic chopped up, toss the shrimp in to cook then add a little tiny bit of whipping cream at the end to make it creamy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Broccoli salad or broccoli& cauliflower salad, 3 bean salad, carrot raisin salad, a platter of deviled eggs, a platter of fresh sliced tomatoes & cucumbers sprinkled with a little basil and drizzled with olive oil and vinegar ( or just plain ) sauteed zucchini with onions and green peppers hot rollls or garlic bread , sometimes I will slice a french loaf in half ,slather it with half mayonaise and melted butter put on cookie sheet and brown nicely in oven tastes delicious! I think you can add brocolie into the mac & cheese!
The cheese sauce with the noodles will taste good with the brocolie
For sides you can have some crusty garlic or cheese bread
& corn on the cob with a bit of butter!!.!.
