When microwaving, are you meant to cover your food with glad wrap or not?!

Question: When microwaving, are you meant to cover your food with glad wrap or not!?
Answers:
It's not safe! You can buy hard plastic lids with vents at dollar stores that you put on top of your food so that it does not get exposed to the micro waves!. Never use plastic film- as was mentioned before the heat will leech all those chemicals right into your food, They are toxic and that's how our bodies wind up with cancer after years of ingesting that crap!. Simplest thing: put another plate on top-upside down that it!Www@FoodAQ@Com

It really depends on what you're cooking -- you probably won't need to for a muffin or a bowl of soup, but for vegetables, the key thing to remember is that when cooking vegetables in the microwave, you're essentially steaming the vegetables in their own water content!. Some kind of cover -- plastic wrap, a lid, or something like that -- is needed to keep the steam circulating within the cooking vessel!. I tend to prefer plastic wrap for that purpose, especially given that I often microwave in glass serving bowls and they don't usually have lids!. (Just remember to be very careful when removing the cover from the dish -- the steam will be very hot, even after it sits for a bit!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com

it doesn't necessarily have to be glad wrap, and depending on how long you are microwaving your food for it's not always a good idea to use glad wrap!. however, anything that does not contain metal can be used to cover whatever you are microwaving, so that makes it easy to replace the glad and not have to worry if it is okay or not!.

Don't use plastic in microwaves!. Don't cover whatever you're cooking with anything that can be transferred that you don't want to eat!. Don't you wonder what's in that design in the paper towels!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I wouldn't recommend it due to it being plastic (chemicals they use making the stuff get released when microwaved)!.

I use a papertowelWww@FoodAQ@Com

Well you can but there is a big controversy over it!. Use a lightly dampened papertowel or clean dish cloth instead!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I always use gladwrap and poke a few holes in it!. It works better than anything else!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
