Why does temperature setting matter when something is in the oven?!

Question: Why does temperature setting matter when something is in the oven!?
I'm being ridiculous here, so don't take this serious!. But I want to know why they tell me to set the temperature to 300degrees or something, but what does all that matter!?!?!?!?!.!.Why can't I just go to 10000 degrees to make the food cook quicker!?!?!.!.Why wait 2 hours instead of 2 minutes!?

Do things become better cooked when given more time or something!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
It matters because it helps cook the food you want to it's best taste!. Like meat, it's always good to either cook above 500degrees or broil it!. When you broil meet, you have to pay attention that the top of the oven doesn't burn the top of whatever you are cooking!. Pasta type recipes should be cooked between 300 to 400 degrees!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It all depends on the thickness of the food, but you want to make sure the outside and the inside cook correctly relative to each other!. If you want the heat to permeate evenly, say for a cake or a thick roast, then your temperature should be lower!. If you want the outside to get crusty, but the inside to stay rare, say for a smaller roast or some veggies, then you crank it up!. It's all in the physics!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The answer is simple it is physics!. The density and type of the food being cooked dictate the cooking (oven) temperature!. To cook a pot pie for instance, if you put the pie at a very high temperature, not only does the top food burn but it ceases to conduct heat to the center to cook the rest!. That's the full story!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

some things just require lower temps such as cookies, so they don't cook to fast and become burnt on the bottom, extra crispy on the outside and still dough in the center!. basically anything you cook at a higher temp than it says is going to be raw in the center a look done on the outside!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It is so things cook evenly!.

You would cook the outside and the centre would be cold, or the outside will be burnt to a crisp by the time the centre is cooked!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

So, you wouldn't burn whatever you're cooking in the oven!. But if you
want to cook it faster, may I suggest that you use the microwave oven!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Because just like cooking something in a microwave - if the temp is too high it will cook the outside too fast and the inside won't be ready!.

Www@FoodAQ@Com

The idea is to cook completely through without burning the outside!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

lower and slower = more tenderWww@FoodAQ@Com

it depends on what you are cookinh if its to high it will burn etc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
