I don't know why not!. Let your imagination run wild when you create, don't listen the 'the man' who says no and puffy top!.
The only thing I would suggest is try and get the mince meat as thick as you can!. The recipe you will need is a combining of the two is all!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You sure could!. The filo is even more versatile!. You could make little mince meat pockets!

This recipe is my grandmothers, great grandmothers recipe!.!.!.if that makes sense! ;)

As with many old recipes this makes a LOAD! It is suitable if you are going to can or freeze what is not used!. Keep in mind that this mixture has to sit in a cool, dark place for about a week to steep and develop its flavors!. You will have to use a fresh or sterile container of some sort to do this!.

2 lbs!. beef roast cooked and put through a grinder or chopped fine!. (do not use hamburger or brown ground beef!.!.!.will not work!.)
1/4 to 1/2 lb!. suet ground or chopped fine
6 lbs!. apples chopped fine
1 lb!. raisins
2 lbs!. currants
3/4 lbs!. citron
1 1/2 tblsp!. cinnamon
1 tblsp!. nutmeg
2 tsp!. mace
1 tblsp!. cloves
1 tblsp!. allspice
1 tblsp!. salt
2 lbs!. brown sugar
1 qt!. sherry
1 pt!. brandyWww@FoodAQ@Com

It would take a hell of a lot of filo to hold up the weight of a family sized pie in mince meat!. And would be quite a job to eat it without making a hell of a mess!.

Shortcrust and puff are usually used for pies, one or the other or a combination of both; shortcrust base, puff topWww@FoodAQ@Com
