Here is what I do when I get bored with the same old roast thing!. I cook it in the oven with beef gravy, steak sauce,Worcestershire sauce, onions and a lot of season!. At 350 for 4hr!. when it is ready and falling apart I let it coo down then I shard it up,then I add a little steak sauce and put some on sub buns!. Then I put Pepper Jack cheese and the onions over them and put them in the oven for only the cheese to melt!. YummyWww@FoodAQ@Com

I flour the roast, sear it to seal in the juices, place in a pot, mix together some black coffee and some soy sauce as well as a little water, and pour over the roast until there is about 1/4 inch in the pan!. Then I put the cover on it, and roast it in the oven!. You can keep your pan clean by lining it with foil first and covering the roast with another piece - sealing both together!. About half-way through the cooking, turn the roast over in the liquid!. There are two good things about using the coffee/soy sauce combo - first, it tenderizes the meat and does a wonderful job of that!. Second, it makes your gravy a nice dark brown and has a wonderful flavor!. All you have to do is remove the roast (and whatever veggies you cooked with it), bring the broth to a boil, scrape the bottom to loosen the pieces, mix flour and water, add it to the broth, stirring with a whisk and bring to a boil - adding more water as needed to thicken it just right!.
I'm sure you know how to make gravy since you've done the roast many times but some readers might be unfamiliar with the process so I spelled it out!.
Hope that helps!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I use a crock pot when I leave to work I put in the meat with lots of onions, garlic and maybe even canned tomatoes then when I get home I make steamed rice with mixed veggies and put the meat on top of the rice!. You can also make a gravy to pour over it!.
also the pressure cooker if your not afraid to use one!. It cooks the meat really fast but you need to add lots of seasonings, to the water or it will be very bland!. Again I use garlic, onions, salt and beef boullion for more flavor!. Just remember if using boullion, lower the salt you add!. Once it's all done the meat just melts in your mouth, it makes some awesome quesadillas, or a quick stroganoff, or just as the main course with some kind of side like potatoes, salads, etc!.!.!. Hope that helpsWww@FoodAQ@Com

Chuck roast isn't very tender and should cook for a long time!. Use a can of creamed soup (mushroom, celery) and a package of dry onion soup mix!. Line a pan with foil and put half the soups on the bottom; then the roast; and the rest of the soups on top!. Cover tightly with foil and slowbake at 300 for 6-7 hours - or at 350 for 4-6 hours (depending on size)!. You could even put some quartered potatoes and/or large carrot chunks in there the last hour or so!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
