Can I subsitute a "frying chicken" with boneless, skinless chicken breasts?!

Question: Can I subsitute a "frying chicken" with boneless, skinless chicken breasts!?
The slow-cooker recipe I'm trying to make asks for a "1 lb!. frying chicken, cut up and skin removed (organic or free-range, if possible)!." I only have boneless, skinless chicken breasts!. Would these work!? And if so, about how many do you think I should use!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I always sub boneless skinless in all my recipes, including slow cooking!. It will work fine!. The only difference will be total cooking time, less will be required, but it won't hurt it to stay longer (on low)!.
Use the same weight!. How many you use really depends on the size of the fillets!. I would safely guess to use about 4!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can definitely replace a frying chicken with boneless chicken breasts!. There will be two major differences:

1) The recipe will cook much faster with the boneless chicken breasts than it would with the fryer because it takes longer to actually cook the bone inside the meat!.

2) You will only have white meat in the finished dish!.

As far as how much, if the recipe calls for a 1 lb!. fryer, I would put anywhere between 3/4 to 1 lb!. of boneless chicken breasts!.

Good luck!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Frying chicken would still have the bones!. I would guess you would need about 3/4 pound of boneless chicken breasts!. Or another way to do it, is to see how many the recipe serves!. If it serves 6, then figure 1/4 pound per person!. This should work okay except you'll need to dial back the cooking time!. And it won't be as flavorful because bones add flavor!. Try adding some chicken broth or even red wine to the dish!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can use them, sure!. Don't worry about it too much!. It won't be the same, but it will work just fine!. Coat your chicken in olive oil and some seasonings before putting it into the recipe!.

Use about 3 chicken breasts!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Breasts cook much faster than a cut of chicken!. You have to cut back on the cooking time!. Personally I would not use them!. Slow cookers are for tough meats or anything that requires a long time to cook!. Chicken breast can be cooked in minutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, but you do need to cut back on the cooking time, because they will cook faster that chicken with the bone!. Or cut down on the temperature --- that will work!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes, look at their weights and make up a lbWww@FoodAQ@Com
