I want to do a pig roast. How do I get started?!

Question: I want to do a pig roast!. How do I get started!?
I want to learn how to do a pig roast, so I bought a small, whole pig (20 - 25 pounds)!. Now, I trying to figure out exactly how to cook it!. Any suggestions!?

I don't have the space to dig a pit and my grill is not nearly large enough!. I am looking to buy the smoker grill out of Home Depot!. Is this a good idea!?

Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

The last time I roasted a pig I actually rented a six-foot electric spit!. We used chicken wire to make sure the pit was tight to the spit and then used a barbecue to keep coals going!. We put briquettes on the ground about three inches apart under the pig to make sure the fire wasn't too hot, and replace them with fresh briquettes when they burned out!. It took about six hours for the pig to roast and it was the most delicious thing I've ever eaten in my life!. It just fell off the bone (good thing it was wrapped in chicken wire or it would have fallen apart off the spit into the coals!. You need to cook it low and slow, no matter how you do it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Make sure the smoker is large enough to accomidate but I've used them in the past for smaller meats and have enjoyed the end result!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
