Question: Incorporating lentils into cooking!?
I bought a bag of lentils at the grocery store tonight on impulse!. Now what the heck do I do with them!?!

Full of vegetables and lean meat, this stew makes a filling and nutritious meal for your family on a chilly winter evening!.
Ingredients:
1 lb Lean Ground Beef
? C Onion, chopped
1 Clove Garlic, minced
4 oz Mushroom stems and pieces
16 oz Stewed Tomatoes
1 Celery Stalk, sliced
1 lg Carrot, Sliced
1 C Lentils, uncooked
3 C Water
1 Bay Leaf
2 T Parsley, snipped
1 t Salt
1 t Beef Bouillon, instant
? t Pepper
Directions:
Cook and stir the meat, onion and the garlic in a Dutch oven until the meat is brown!. Drain off the excess fat!. Stir in the un-drained mushrooms, and the remaining ingredients!. Heat to boiling!. Then reduce the heat, cover, and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the lentils are tender, about 40 minutes!. Remove the bay leaf and serve!.

I always have cooked lentils in freezer bags ready to use!. You can use them in stews, soup, salads, lentil burgers or just as a side, add some chopped celery capsicums and onions and stir fry them add a little soy sauce to taste,lovely with mashed potatoes!.Have a look on the net at the vegetarian recipes!. or www!.recipezaar!.comWww@FoodAQ@Com
