Question: What is the best way to cook a pork shoulder in a crock pot!? !?
I have already put a dry rub on it!. The rub was mixed with cider vinegar and oil!. Should I cook it in the crock pot as is or should I add water or something else!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I like to avoid adding water if the meat has fat, because the cooking and fat will keep it tender!. Water makes it rubbery!. If you can brown it first, that will sear in the moisture, and then I would put the browned meat in the crockpot and add a little liquid to the pan you browned it in, stir it around (making sort of a watery gravy) and add that to your crockpot!.

I'd let it cook on low overnight, if you can sleep with such a yummy smell in the house!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

pork shoulder have mussels and texture is hard!.!.!.!.to make it tender,method of cooking u can braise it to make them tender!.!.!.!.add stock to cook them will be better!.!.!.!.can add carrot,onion!.!.!.!.

I cook mine in a crockpot with onion soup mix and a little water (usually 6-8 hours on low)!. It comes out so tender there are no leftovers!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
