I have a turkey that I forgot about, its been frozen since the day I bought it in 2007, is it still good?!
Answers:
The surprising answer is that in terms of safety, frozen turkeys will keep indefinitely in the freezer!. Quality is another matter, however, and is said to decline after about a year!.
Thaw it, see if it's look is satisfactory in the raw state, then cook, taste and use!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Meat that is frozen is usually good for up to a year depending on how it was packed, and if it has got freezer burn!. Unwrap it, thaw it, and see how it looks!. If there is no freezer burn, good to go, if it has some freezer burn you can still remove the freezer burnt parts and cook the rest of it!.
If you really don't think it looks good, it would make great food for any dogs or cats you may have!. What can I say, I'm a wast not want not kind of person!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

OOPs ?
surely
It may have freezer burn but as soon as possible,, dry the skin,, and oil it down several times
and do not forget the neck and giblets inside
continue to thaw and dry the interior also!.!.
I have never had this problem BUT
I would stuff the abdominal with fruit,, apples peaches (quartered)
Rather than a bread mixture
surround the bird with several potatoes maybe cabbage also quartered OH heck the carrots as well
cover it all from the start with foil tightly or or use a covered roasting pan to help contain the moisture
Good luck I hope the plastic bag kept the bird safe!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
