Question: I bought a jar of Plum sauce, What can I make!?

Stir-fried Pork Tenderloin in Plum Sauce
1 pound boneless pork tenderloin, cut in 1" cubes
1 tablespoon oil
1/4 cup Chinese plum sauce
1/4 cup water
1 or 2 scallions, minced
Marinade:
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon Chinese rice wine or dry sherry
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 clove garlic, minced
Preparation:
Combine cornstarch, soy sauce, rice wine, brown sugar, sesame oil, and garlic!. Toss with pork!. Let marinate 30 minutes!. Heat oil in a wok!. Add pork, reserving marinade, and stir-fry until browned!. Add plum sauce, water, and scallions!. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer about 15 minutes, until pork is tender and cooked through!. Add the reserved marinade and bring to a boil, then cook, stirring, until sauce thickens slightly!. Serve with rice!.


Pork With Plum Sauce
3 cups hot cooked rice
1Tbs!. oil
3/4lb!. pork tenderloin,cut in thin bite size strips
1 garlic clove,minced
1tsp!.Chinese Five Spice Powder
2 med!. zucchini,cut in thin bite size strips
1(8 oz) can pineapple tidbits,drained
1/2c!. purchased plum sauce
1/4c toasted chopped almonds,if desired
While rice is cooking,heat oil in a lg skillet or wok over med-high heat until hot!. Add pork,garlic and five-spice powder;cook and stir 3-5 mins!. or until pork is no longer pink Add zucchini;cook and stir 2-3 mins!. or until crisp tender!. Stir in pineapple and plum sauce;cook just till thoroughly heated!. Serve pork mixture over rice!. Sprinkle with almonds!.


Bbq Tri Tip With Plum Sauce
1/2 Cup Plum Jam
1/2 Cup Vinegar (I used apple cider)
1 t!. freshly ground black pepper
1 tri tip roast
Combine jam, vinegar and pepper in ziplock bag, large enough for the roast!. Add the tri tip to the ziplock bag and marinate for at least 4 hours!. Set the BBQ to High and cook each side for about 4 minutes!.
Reduce the heat to low and cook for an additional 30-35 minutes, turning every 5 minutes or so!. I used a 5 lb!. roast, and it came out "medium"!. If you like it more rare or done, adjust to suit your taste!.
Save the marinade and reduce!. Brush the marinade lightly on each thinly sliced piece of meat just before serving!.


Chicken In Plum Sauce
1/2 c Oil
2 ts Cornstarch mixed with 1/4
1/4 c Water
1/3 c Chinese pickles
1 ts Salt
2 ts Sugar
4 Carrots
3 tb Sherry
4 sl Ginger
5 Celery stalks, diced
1/3 c Plum sauce
3 lb Frying chicken
1 Clove garlic
Cup water
Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces!. Peel carrots and cut into cubes!.
Crush garlic!. Place oil and garlic in skillet!. Brown Chicken, stir 5 minutes, cover, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes!. Add plum sauce celery, ginger, sherry, carrots, sugar salt, pickles and water!. Simmer covered for 12 minutes!. Add cornstarch-water mixture to thicken gravy!.

So take half a block of cream cheese and mash w/ a fork!. Add a couple Tbsp of either crushed pineapple or king crab meat to it and blend well!. Stuff into a wonton, fold into a trianagle, sealing edges w/ water!. Fry for 30 seconds or so!. Dip into plum sauce!.

Plum sauce sounds really good!. You could top a cheesecake with it!. (Or put on a goat cheese round and broil a bit - serve with almonds, crackers, fruit)!. I also heard of using it instead of oil, or substitute half of the oil in cakes, pastries and such!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You could buy/cook roasted meat (chicken, pork etc) and dip them in Plum Sauce!

Or just deep fry anything and dip in it!.

Another way you could try is stir frying meat/seafood with the plum sauce!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
