Ok, so my mom wants to know how to make lasagana and what ingridients do you need, can you please tell me how to make it and how much does it cost to make it, just to see if its better than just go and buy it already made at a restaurant!. Thanx!Www@FoodAQ@Com

INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 pounds ground beef ($6)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 (28 ounce) jar sausage flavored spaghetti sauce($4)
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce ($2)
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, diced
1 (8 ounce) package mozzarella cheese, shredded($4)
8 ounces provolone cheese, shredded
1 (15 ounce) container ricotta cheese
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
9 lasagna noodles
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C)!.
In a skillet over medium heat season ground beef with garlic powder and oregano!. Brown the meat and drain!.
In a large sauce pan add spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce, and oregano; set aside!. In a skillet heat olive oil!. Saute garlic and onions for about 5 minutes!. Mix sauteed onions and garlic with meat into the sauce and cook for 15 to 20 minutes!.
Combine mozzarella and provolone cheeses in a medium bowl!. In a medium bowl mix ricotta cheese, eggs, milk, and oregano!.
Layer a 9x13 inch baking pan with just enough sauce to cover the bottom of the pan!. Lay three lasagna noodles in the pan!. Cover with sauce, then with ricotta mixture then sprinkle with mozzarella/provolone mixture; repeat layering!. Finish with a layer of noodles and remaining sauce!. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese!.
Bake covered in a preheated oven at 375 degrees for 30 minutes!. Uncover and bake for 15 minutes!.

It is very easy and cheap!. The ingredients are on the box of noodles!.

I use all hamburger ut you can use ground turkey as well!.
Buy pasta sauce or make your own, much cheaper and then you know what is in it!.

You can use ricotta or cottage cheese either one works just fine!. You can also buy noodles that you don't have to boil first!. They work well and eliminate one time consuming step!.

Spaghetti Sauce:

1 can stewed tomatoes (or tomato sauce)
1 can tomato sauce
1 medium onion chopped
1-2 cloves garlic chopped
1-2 tbsp butter or margerine
Then the rest is to taste!.!.!.!.
sugar (about 1 tbsp to even out the acidty of the tomatoes)
itailian seasoning
dried chives (buy them for only 1 dollar at Wal-greens)
dried or fresh parsley
basil
oregano
1 chicken bullion cube
onion salt
granulated garlic
salt and pepper
celery salt
Water optional

Saute the onions, and garlic in butter!. When they are translucent add the tomatoes and remaining ingredients to taste!.

I just made lasagna tonight!.

Brown 1 lb hamburger (drain it)
Cook your lasagna noodles
layer noodles on the bottom of a pan
add Prego Sauce to your drained meat
Put a layer of meat/sauce on top of those noodles
add another layer of noodles, repeat the meat/sauce
sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the meat
put in oven on 350 degrees for 20 minutes until cheese is golden/melted!.

You can also add cottage cheese on top of the meat/sauce mixture

12 servings, one piece each1 lb!. ground beef 1 egg, beaten 2-1/2 cups KRAFT Shredded Low-Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese, divided 1 container (15 oz!.) POLLY-O Natural Part Skim Ricotta Cheese 1/2 cup KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese, divided 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley 1 jar (26 oz!.) spaghetti sauce 1 cup water 12 lasagna noodles, uncooked Make It
HEAT oven to 350°F!. Brown meat in large skillet on medium-high heat!. Meanwhile, mix egg, 1-1/4 cups mozzarella cheese, the ricotta cheese, 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese and the parsley until well blended; set aside!.

DRAIN meat; return to skillet!. Stir in spaghetti sauce!. Add water to empty sauce jar; cover with lid and shake well!. Add to meat mixture; stir until well blended!. Spread 1 cup of the sauce onto bottom of 13x9-inch baking dish; top with layers of 3 lasagna noodles, 1/3 of the ricotta cheese mixture and 1 cup sauce!. Repeat layers twice!. Top with remaining 3 noodles and the remaining meat sauce!. Sprinkle with remaining 1-1/4 cups mozzarella cheese and remaining 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese!. Cover with greased foil!.

BAKE 45 min!. Remove foil; bake an additional 15 min!. or until heated through!. Let stand 15 min!. before cutting to serve!.

For a great Cheese Lasagna:

1 pkg!. Lasagna noodles
1/4 cup ricotta cheese
1/2 lbs bag shredded mozzarella cheese
A few shakes of parmesean cheese
1 egg
2 Jars of your favorite tomato sauce
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
2 tbs olive oil

Deep dish pan

-Heat oven to 425 degrees-

1!. Boil lasagna noodles until they're mostly cooked but still slightly firm
2!. In a large mixing bowl combine the egg, half the bag of mozzarella, all of the ricotta, one of the jars of tomato sauce, the olive oil, a shake of Italian seasoning, and about 1/4 tsp salt
3!. Pour some of the second jar of sauce into the pan (enough to coat the bottom evenly)
4!. Arrange a single layer of the cooked lasanga noodles in the pan
5!. With a rubber spatula, evenly spread a layer of the wet mixture on top of the noodles!.
6!. Pour on another thin** layer of tomato sauce
7!. Sprinkle on a layer of mozzarella
8!. Repeat steps 4-7 until you've filled your pan just below the brim
9!. Sprinkle a final and generous layer of mozzarella and then shake on some parmesean!.

Bake at 425 for 30-45 minutes OR until the top is golden brown (the parmesean will turn it into almost like a cheese crust)

brown ground beef in pan drain off fat, brown sausage drain off fat, mix the two meat together and add most of the sauce!. put one layer of noodles in a 9 x 13 pan (glass or metal)!. add some of the meat mix , mozzarella, add a layer of peperoni!. one more layer of noodles , mix together ricotta and one egg spread half the mix over noodles, and another layer noodles, sauce!. matzorellla, peperoni, noodles, ricotta mix, noodles!. the last of the meat mix and top with motzerella cheese!.

I tend to put mine in the fridge over night, helps the flavors blend, bake at 350 for around 45 min!. till top is nice and golden!. let cool for 10 min serve with garlic bread!.

My favorite recipe: Put a half dozen lasagna noodles to boil (about 8 minutes)!. Brown a pound of ground beef until well cooked!. Add one can or bottle (about 30 oz) of commercial spaghetti sauce!. Simmer for a few minutes and stir to blend!. Remove noodles from heat, pour off water, and add cold water to make the noodles handleable!. Place a thin layer of sauce in the bottom of a bread pan (about 5 x 9 by 5 in deep)!. Add a layer of noodles!. Cover with a layer of mozzarella cheese (grated, sliced, or hockey pucks)!. Add sauce, and a layer of noodles!. Place some ricotta cheese next, and cover this wit sauce and noodles!. Continue alternating until the pan is full or you run out of something (usually sauce)!. Bake at 350 F for half an hour, let cool for ten minutes, and serve!. If you are feeling ambitious, make your own spaghetti sauce using any available tasty recipe!. Better homemade

Italian Baked Lasagna

1 lb!. Lasagna pasta noodles, cooked
2-16 oz!. jars marinara or alfreedo sauce
11/2 lb!. Ricotta cheese
1 C!. grated Parmesan cheese
1 1/2 lb!. Mozzarella cheese, sliced thin
3/4 C!. chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, chopped or minced
2 tsp!. salt
2-3 eggs, beaten
2-3 lbs!. ground beef
1 tsp!. Italian seasoning

1!. Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions or until tender but still firm!. Drain, keep warm!.

2!. Meanwhile, saute the ground beef, garlic and onion is a large heavy skillet or saucepan until beef is done!. Add sauce, salt, and Italian seasoning and mix well!. Simmer on low heat 12 to 15 minutes!. In a separate bowl, combine eggs and ricotta cheese!.

3!. Grease a 15" x 12" or larger, deep sided baking pan!. Arrange a first layer of noodles across the pan so the ends hang over the sides!. (The ends will be laid back-over the top for the final layer!. This helps to hold lasagna together when cutting servings) Then add a layer of the cooked beef sauce, ricotta cheese and mozzarella cheese!. Add a second alternating layer of pasta (lengthwise in the pan), the meat sauce and cheese mixture!. Repeat until pan is almost full then fold over the ends of the first layer of noodles and top with more lasagna sauce!. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes, or till cheese is bubbly!.

Allow to set for 5 to 10 minutes before cutting!.

6 ea Slices chopped bacon
2 ea Cloves crushed garlic
1 ea Chopped onion
2 lb ground beef

1/2 lb Mushrooms
1/2 c Water

2-3 ea Beaten eggs
1 c Grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 lb Cooked lasagna noodles
12 oz Ricotta cheese


Saute bacon, crushed garlic, and onion in hot oil for 5 min!. Remove the garlic!. Add ground beef, salami, basil, and parsley!. Brown well!. Add tomato paste, tomatoes, mushrooms, and water!. Simmer uncovered for 1 hour or until very thick!. Season to taste with salt and pepper!. Preheat oven to 375F!. Butter a 12x9 inch casserole or lasagna dish!. Grate mozzarella!. Combine ricotta cheese, egg and Parmesan cheese!. Pour a layer of tomato sauce in the bottom of dish!. Cover with a layer of noodles and a layer of the cheese /egg mixture, sprinkle with mozzarella!. Repeat, ending with sauce and a layer of mozzarella!. Bake for 30 min!. Note: The flavor improves when lasagna is prepared a day in advance and refrigerated until time for bakingWww@FoodAQ@Com

Mix the remaining cottage cheese and meat sauce and top it off!.
