2In a large mixing bowl blend dry ingredients!.
3In a separate bowl, mix wet ingredients and add to the dry!.

Waffles

Ingredients
1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1-3/4 cups milk
1/2 cup cooking oil or butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions
In a medium bowl stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt!. Make a well in center of flour mixture; set aside!.

In another medium bowl beat eggs slightly; stir in milk, oil, and vanilla!. Add egg mixture all at once to flour mixture!. Stir just until moistened (batter should be slightly lumpy)!.

Pour 1 to 1 1/4 cups batter onto grids of a preheated, lightly greased waffle baker (use a regular or Belgian waffle baker)!. Close lid quickly; do not open until done!. Bake according to manufacturer's directions!. When done, use a fork to lift waffle off grid!. Repeat with remaining batter!. Serve warm!.

Makes 12 to 16 (4-inch) waffles

Buttermilk Waffles:Prepare as above, except reduce baking powder to 1 teaspoon and add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda!. Substitute 2 cups buttermilk or sour milk for the milk!.

Top with your choice of fresh fruit and whipped cream, warm syrup or butter and powdered sugar!.

Gingerbread Waffles

Ingredients
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup shortening
1 egg
1/2 cup molasses
1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 cup hot water
Sweetened whipped cream (optional)
Ground cinnamon (optional)

Directions
In a medium mixing bowl beat sugar and shortening together until fluffy!. Add egg and molasses; beat until combined!. Combine the flour, baking soda, ginger, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, salt, and cloves!. Add to sugar mixture; beat until smooth!. Stir in the hot water!.

Pour 1 to 1-1/4 cups batter onto grids of a preheated, lightly greased waffle baker!. Close lid quickly; do not open until done!. Bake according to manufacturer's directions!. (Do not overbake!.) When done, use a fork to lift waffle off grid!. Repeat with remaining batter!. If desired, serve warm with sweetened whipped cream and additional cinnamon!. Makes eight 4-inch waffles!.

Pumpkin Waffles

Ingredients
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1-3/4 cups milk
1 cup canned pumpkin or mashed, cooked pumpkin
2 egg yolks
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon finely shredded orange peel (optional)
2 egg whites
1 recipe Cider-Honey Syrup (optional)

Directions
In a large bowl, stir together flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, baking soda, nutmeg, and ginger; set aside!.

In a medium bowl, combine milk, pumpkin, egg yolks, butter, and, if desired, orange peel!. Add pumpkin mixture all at once to flour mixture; stir just until combined (batter should be lumpy)!.

In a small bowl, beat egg whites with an electric mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form (tips stand straight)!. Gently fold beaten egg whites into pumpkin mixture, leaving a few puffs of egg white!.

Heat a lightly greased waffle baker!. Pour some of the batter onto the waffle grids!. Close lid quickly; do not open until done!. Bake according to manufacturer's directions!. When done, use a fork to lift waffle off grids!. Repeat with remaining batter!.

Serve waffles immediately or keep warm in a loosely covered ovenproof dish in a 300 degree F oven!. If desired, serve with Cider-Honey Syrup!. Makes 16 (4-inch) waffles!.

Cider-Honey Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup apple cider or apple juice and 1 cup honey!. Bring to boiling; reduce heat!. Simmer, uncovered, for 15 to 20 minutes or until slightly thickened!. Serve warm!. Cover and store any remaining syrup in the refrigerator for up to 1 week!. Makes about 1 cup!.

I have a waffle Iron
I use a boxed mix and I follow the instructions
I have not used it in 3 years to da mn hard to clean
And you can't put it in the dishwasherWww@FoodAQ@Com

I do just use box mix but i add blueberries or kids love chocolate chips!.!.!.and top w whip cream and berries etc!.some of the fresh markets etc have yummy mixes!.!.some have coffee w chocolate chips etc!.!.experiment!.
