You might try washing your apples first!. Most apples come with a wax or vegetable oil coating to help preserve them and make them shiny!. This could be the reason why your caramel keeps sliding off!. You can buy one of those fruit and veggie washes or just use a vinegar and water solution!. Make sure they are thoroughly dry before dipping them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Kraft makes caramels that are made just for caramel apple making!. It's in a yellow colored bag!. You just follow the directions on them and it should work!. Make sure the apples are COLD, not room temp!. That'll help the caramel harden on the apples quicker!.
I've had ones with candy on em and they are easier to eat if you crush them a little bit!.

Wash and dry the apple - use baking soda to scrub the surface and remove the paraffin most spray on it to retard spoilage!. also use regular Brach's carmel candies or simple Wrapples to make it easy and achieve success right away!. Good Luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com
