Once opened, how long is Betty Crocker Whipped Frosting good for?!

Question: Once opened, how long is Betty Crocker Whipped Frosting good for!?
I opened this container 3 months ago and 1 day, to the exact day!. I want to use it again today!. It has separated and so there is a little water on top that wants to be stirred in!. Is it still ok to use!? It smells good still and I tried some on my finger and it still tastes really good!. Is 3 months too long!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I am a former chef from Canada and if it was refrigerated and is not mouldy, the ingredient in it are not to perishable, I have seen it in frigs for months, , the only problem is if someone takes a taste and does not use a spoon, they can inject bacteria, and then it goes mouldy, if it smells fine and does not have a old taste it is fine, my mother used to buy it for cakes back in the 1970-80's and it used to thrown out when she cleaned the frig every 6 months, half empty or empty!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There should be an expiration date on the bottom of the container, or around the rim of the lid!. After opening it is suggested that you refrigerate!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It possibly is too long!. But if you heat it in the microwave it will kill some of the bacteria!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

anything after 3 days is no good unless its condiments !!!
