Can I substitute cube steaks for porkchops in a recipe? ?!

Question: Can I substitute cube steaks for porkchops in a recipe!? !?
I have a crockpot recipe for porkchops where you flour them, brown them in oil, and put them in chicken broth in the crockpot for about 4 hours!. Do you think it would be good if I used cube steaks instead of the pork chops and beef broth instead of the chicken!? Or do you think they would get way to gooey!?
Thanks! Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think it sounds great!. We actually cook our cube steak in the pressure cooker sometimes to tenderize it!. Putting it in the crock pot and slow cooking sounds good!. I would use beef broth instead of chicken so that you get that beefy flavor and I would not reduce the time!. If anything you may have to cook for an hour or so longer as cube steak can be tough!. It will taste like country style steak or salisbury steak if you thicken the broth and make gravy!. My mouth is watering!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think that would be great because in alot of beef recipes they have you brown it before putting in oven, crockpot or stew!.!.!.although it will take significantly longer to be to the tenderness you desire i would say it would take at least 6-7hrs on low but you can bump it up to high after the first couple hours and it may be done in 4!.!.!.and i think you may want to either use beef boyon or dilute the beef broth so its not so strong and salty sounds goood!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think it would work out pretty well!.

As for the cubed steak being more tender than the chops, I don't see that as a problem!. Just be aware that your cubed steaks might turn into shredded steak!. In a good thick gravy over noodles or rice, that would not be a bad thing IMO!.

I wouldn't change the chicken stock for beef!. Use 1/2 and 1/2 mix!. Beef stock tends to be quite strong, and might be too much!. I always mix!.

What is in the rest of the recipe!? The ingredients may play nice with pork, but not with beef!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Cube steak is not as firm as pork chops so you may have to adjust the cooking time!.But it may work!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
