Answers:
First, you must wash and peel your potatoes!. Second, shred the potatoes!. This can be done with a cheese shredder!. Third, add oil to your cast iron skillet, and heat the oil!. Flour the potatoes, and then, add the potatoes to the hot oil!. Next, cook until crisp, about 15 minutes!. These just won't be the patty type!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Place a little clarified butter in a hot pan, add the potatoes, salt and pepper!. Let them get crisp and brown on one side and then flip over and brown the other side!.

If you are making hashbrowns from whole potatoes, then do this:

1) Peel and quarter some potatoes and place them in a pan of cold water!. Make sure they are covered with the water!.

2) Place a large pot of water (1/2 full) on the stove and bring to a boil!. Add 1 tsp cream of tartar to the boiling water!. Drain and place the potatoes in the boiling water!. Set a timer for 8 minutes!. Drain and put the potatoes in the fridge to chill!. Grate the cold potatoes with a cheese grater!. This method will prevent your potatoes from going brown!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
