You really do not want to boil fish!. It doesn't do anything for the fish except cook it!. You want to enjoy the flavor of the fish and cooking it in a good manner will give you that!. So!.!.!.
Easy salmon cooking is grilling or baking: Wash the salmon with cold water and pat dry!. Sprinkle the flesh with a bit of salt and pepper!. Put the salmon on a piece of heavy duty aluminum foil!. On top of the flesh, put sliced white onions and slices of fresh lemon!. Seal the foil so the salmon is all covered, making a pouch!. Grill it or bake it depending on the size of the pieces!. About 3 to 4 minutes per side for pieces!. If you cook a whole salmon or thick salmon steaks it will take a while longer!. Check the fish by looking at it and moving the flesh with a fork!. If it looks opaque and flakes easily when moving the fork, it is done!. When you bake it, check using the same time guidelines, but it really depends on the size of your salmon pieces!. My best advice is check, and don't worry about checking "too much"!.!.!.salmon cooks quickly and it dries out if it is overcooked!.
If you want to add some dill to the salmon, it really adds to the flavor of the fish!.
Cod can be baked the same way as salmon, but it is a little drier species of fish!. You could add a bit of olive oil or butter to the fish, and bake it or grill it!. My friend puts a very small spreading of mayonnaise on her cod, and sprinkles on the seasoning!.
Cod also makes the best fish and chips! :) Not healthy, but yummy!
Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

This is how I cook Cod and we love it!. Its so quick and easy!.
Oven to 400, in a shallow dish about 1/2 cup of bread, cracker or cereal crumbs, + salt, pepper, pinch of basil and 2 Tbsp parmesan cheese!. I just rinse the cod and let it drain off good, then roll it in the crumb mix until its really well coated!. Arrange the fish peices in a shallow baking dish (usually spray first with Pam) Cover and bake for 20-30 minutes, or until its all cooked!.
*I wouldn't recommend boiling because you'll be killing all the important nutrients you get from fish!. For both health, and less fishy smell try a small outdoor grill, then you can cook it outside and no smell will be in your house, also grilling is great coz you can drain the oils off!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you boil them you remove all of the flavour and a lot of the nutrients!. Cod can just be rubbed over with butter or olive oil and grilled each side for a few minutes until the juices run clear and the flesh is white!.Alternatively make a beer batter and cut the cod into chunks, dip in the batter and either deep or pan fry, it only takes a few minutes and the batter is light and crispy and delicious! Check out beer batter recipe on your search engine for quantities as i just throw things in a bowl! Salmon is best poached in the oven!. Wipe some butter onto baking parchment put the parchment on top of some cooking foil, place salmon on the buttered paper!. At this point you can add fresh chopped herbs, white wine, lemon juice or just lemon slices!. Fold up into a neat parcel making sure juices can't escape and cook in the oven 200c for around 20 mins!. Leave to stand for at least 10 mins before serving hot or leave longer if you want it cold!. This will also stay fresh in your fridge for around four days!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Salmon is an oily enough fish to be able to be broiled or baked without any additional fat or oil!. I usually just put a bit of salt and pepper on it before grilling/boiling then squeeze some lemon over!. You can also bake salmon foil packets with slices of lemon and dill - no cleanup, no extra fat and no fishy smell!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I usually preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C)!.
Meanwhile season my fish with my fav seasoning and "mixtures"!.
And then I bake for 10 minutes per inch of thickness, measured at thickest part (so, it depends on how thick it is), or until salmon just flakes when tested with a fork!.
