Question: How to blanche foods before I freeze them!? !?
The cookbooks I have don't really explain what to do, they assume you already know!. And what purpose does it serve!?

You place the vegetables in boiling water for about a minute, remove, cool, then freeze!.

It's best to bring a large pot of water to a full rolling boil, add the vegetables, let boil, then remove with a slotted spoon to a colander!. Rinse with cool water, let vegetables cool, then freeze!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

blanching foods cooks them before you freeze, this will help the storage of them and they you only have to heat them up to eat!. blanch the veggies in boiling water and then shock in ice water to stop the cooking, put into bags, and freeze for later use!.

put in boiling pot of salted water and cover about a min!.
take out and put into ice water!. then remove and freeze!.
