Question: Serious help!. how do i cook brown rice i need it done within the next 3 hours!?
Answers:
1!.
measure out the rice in a cup or whatever you choose!.

2!.
Put the rice (dry) into a sieve and rinse with water three times

4!.
Put the rice into a pan

3!.
fill the pan with enough water to cover the rice by 2cm

4!.
add a pinch of salt and cover the pan

5!.
Heat up the stove and add the pan to the stove, heat until the water reaches boiling point

6!.
At the point the water boils, quickly turn the temperature down to simmer- so its still heating the pan up, but only making tiny tiny bubbles and not actually boiling!.

7!.
Simmer for 15 minutes then take a fork out and test to ensure te water as not all dried up (it shoudn't have and if it has, boil a kettle and add boiled water to the pan) test a rice grain to see if its soft enough- this will vay depending on how firm you like your rice but at the end of the day you should be able to squadsh the grain flat with the fork- or bit into it woth no hard grain in the middle!.

8!.
If the rice is not sfo enough, carry on simmering, checking again every 5 minutes or so!. Depending on the actual rice, it can take up to 40 minutes- be prepared! Keep an eye on it as if it goes wrong and scotches the pan/burns, not onlu have you got to start all over again, but getting it off the pan is murder!

9!.
When the rice is finally done, turn off the heat and sieve the rice to loose any excess water!.

cooking brown rice

Soak 1 cup of brown rice for 1 hour and drain!.
Add the rice to a medium-sized saucepan and cook, uncovered, on medium-high heat until the rice is dry (2 - 3 minutes)!. Stir in a small amount of salt if desired!.
While dry cooking the rice, bring a kettle of water to a boil!. Add 2 1/4 - 2 1/2 cups boiling water to the rice and wait for the water to return to a full boil!.
When the water has returned to a full boil, turn the heat down to medium-low (a range setting of about 3)!. Cover and cook the rice until the water is fully absorbed (about 40 minutes)!. Do not stir the rice!.
Remove the rice from the heat, and let sit, still covered, for at least 10 minutes!.
Fluff the rice with a fork and serve!.

I think you can do this in 3 hours!.

Combine in a 2 quart saucepan:

1 cup brown rice
2 cups water
1 tablespoon oil or margarine, optional

Stir lightly; bring to a boil and reduce heat to a simmer!. If you’re using a gas stove, that’s a little wispy flame!. If you’re using an electric stove, that’s like 2 clicks from Off!.
Cover with a tight-fitting lid and simmer for 35 to 45 minutes!.
Salt to taste!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

boil it for 20-30 minutes untill it is fluffy, but 2 important things with all rice,
1, never ever wash it, you remove goodness from it and

2 make sure the water boils before you put it in or you could get very severe food poisoning from bacillus cereaus

oh and dont bother putting oil in the water, oil and water never mix so it just floats on top lolWww@FoodAQ@Com

At the grocery store, there is a brand of rice in an orange bad!. All you do is put it in the microwave for 90 seconds and its done!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

put it in a pan of boiling water for around 20-30 minutes, takes a little longer than white riceWww@FoodAQ@Com
