Answers:
Yes, they are basically the same!. I find that heavy cream is a little thicker than whipping cream, but they both whip up the same when I make whipped cream from scratch!. So go ahead and use what you've got!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Some whipping creams are ultrapasturized which extend shelf life but destroy some of the natural whipping properties!. They factory then adds stuff to make it whip up!.

Heavy cream that is only pasturized usually don't have those extra additives and they have a little more butterfat than the whipping cream!. I'd look for heavy cream that does not say it is ultrapasterized!.

The regular heavy cream makes a smoother, tasting product!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Heavy, Whipping, Double, etc!. are all used interchangably in creams!.

Ultrapasturized does not change any of the characteristics of the cream!. It still whips or not as it will!.

Light cream, Half & Half, evaporated milk, are all the same things!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Same thing!.
There are some that are labeled as double cream!. You will also see "ultra pasteurized" this is also the same!.
